Today we are going to talk about the release of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Malayalam film, Aad Jeevitam, which many of you might be familiar with as The Goat Life. So see, how much time has been spent on this film. How much hard work has been done to make this film? After watching them on the big screen, if there were some major negative points in the film. So to be honest, it would have been very difficult for me to identify them. And it might have been better for me to skip this review than to point them out. And I am telling you seriously, when the first half of the film was going on, when the flashback portions were going on in the first half, seeing them, I felt that they were not connecting with me anywhere.
Film Story
And this film has gone somewhere. No, at least for me it has gone, this set is not going to happen. But honestly, friends, as the film progresses, this film progresses towards the interval, similarly, this film takes you towards such an experience, where the film will also make you emotional. The film will keep a horrific face of the desert in front of you. At the same time, you will get to see, the hope of the characters to break and re-unite, a very amazing journey, which is made a memorable film by the end of this film.
If you have been following us for the last 2-2.5 years, then you would know that the slow screenplay or slow narration of any film, does not become a problem for me. At least it never becomes, when there is a proper valid reason behind that slow narration and slow screenplay. And the last payoff of that screenplay is satisfying. So, it never comes in negative. And if we talk about the Aadhaar Jeevitam film, then like the first half, the second half of this film is also very slow.
But despite being so slow, the film does not give a chance to take your eyes off for a moment. And while watching this thing, you will get to know, what level of work has been done by the actor and director in the film. And to be honest, in the last few years, out of all the films that have been released with slow screenplay, you can say that the screenplay of the second half of this film, was the most satisfying. Because this was the demand of this story.
Plot
If that pacing was not given to this film, then I don’t think that the trauma that the characters have felt, the pain that they have felt, would have been able to hit us to that level, at which level it hits us while watching this film. Because of that pacing, the time that is passing by, which is not taking the name of ending, the destination is not coming close, that thing, because of this screenplay, we can feel it.
Here, years pass in the film. But you will not be able to see anywhere on the screen how much time has passed, how much time has passed. That today two days were cut, or three days were cut. And then cut straight to ten days, nothing like that is going to happen. It will be night, it will be day, and from that, only you will get to know, actually how many days have passed here, to these people in this desert.
Here, in the film’s story, the desert works like a kind of character, it separates you from time and the whole world, and it gives you the same pain, and the same medicine, if it will pity you and give you some water, then also it gives on conditions. So, in the second half, all these things have been presented here with this slow pacing, with a lot of detailing, and how these things mentally hurt a person, which has also been tried to show in this film.
Facts and Details
It is said that the world is based on hope, so what is the condition of a person when that hope ends? How he reacts to what level he can go. Seeing all these things in the movie will make you emotional. The interval shot of the film itself is an art piece. As the character of Prithviraj Sukumaran brings his face in front of these wolves. His face looks exactly like those wolves from one side. That shot, the sight of Prithviraj there, his expression, that frame. It was just wonderful.
And from there, if you see, you can say that Prithviraj’s character starts accepting this slavery. If you see, the wolves that we see in the film, the way they are being exploited, the way they are kept as slaves, Prithviraj’s condition is exactly like that. And here, between those wolves and Prithviraj, the line between humans and animals completely ends up in this desert.
And then you see that a kind of bonding develops between them. When you see, at one place, a piece of meat is given to Prithviraj, I don’t think he eats it, he is looking towards those wolves, maybe a piece of meat from one of them is given to Prithviraj. And seeing those things, it feels like, sometimes it becomes very easy to cut and it is very difficult to get freedom. The work done by Prithviraj Sukumaran in the film, the more it is praised, the less it is.
Discuss The Plot, Tone, and Characters
According to me, I am not even able to appreciate this work properly. I would just like to say that we are very lucky to be living in this era where we are getting the opportunity to see this kind of work at big institutions. The screen and the way Prithviraj’s voice changes from the beginning to the end of the film, the voice model is so brilliant that you can imagine how the man has lived the role.
The biggest thing is that he has lived so long. It is not that the film’s shooting is over in 6-7 months and the person is still in the character. He was doing this film for such a long time and despite that, he did not leave the character anywhere, and with this detailing, he has presented him in the film. Not only that, in the film, there is a character of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s friend, an actor named Gokul is playing.
The work that that person has done in the film is amazing. Because in the second half, some portions of that person were scary. Apart from this, you have already seen how the visuals are going to be in the trailer and teaser, and on the big screen, those visuals will take you to their world completely. I don’t know about the rest.
Discuss Creative and Technical Elements
If any of you have seen the Hindi dubbed version, then tell me what happened in it. Because if you see in the Malayalam version, of the film, two languages are used the most. One is Malayalam and the other is Arabic. If you see, you get to hear Arabic more than Malayalam in the film.
So what is it or not, do tell me in the comments. Do tell me in the comments. And I have faith that at least this film has been released by Prithviraj. He has taken a lot of care of this film. But there is no faith. So do tell me in the comments. So overall, then the film Aad Jeevitam is amazing.
If you like to watch survival thriller films, then definitely watch this film on the big screen. Don’t miss it at all. Yes, the thing I said in the beginning, if that is a big problem for you, then you decide whether you want to watch it or not. The screenplay of the film is slow. The film goes into detail. The film puts everything in front of us.
Analysis
So according to me, this thing will not be a problem for you anywhere. So this was my overall opinion about this film. Just like there is a film to represent every year, if you have to remember 2024 in the same way, then the name of Goat Life will be taken. No competition. Some movies stay with you in the theater, but friendship ends after the ending.
But Aadu Jeevitam is such a film that will start in your mind after the end. Survival Thrillers and the Malayalam film industry, this combination is very special and extraordinary. It elevates the level of Indian cinema every time. Manjumal Voice, I just saw it, which made me sleep at night. So much real and natural cinema, which makes the difference between reality and film zero.
Such a tragedy that no one can dare to see even in dreams. The biggest shock I felt after knowing that the film was based on a real-life story. Assuming that what we are seeing with our eyes, someone had experienced it. So what is this film about, let me make a small intro about it quickly.
Film Summary
The rules of the game are simple now. If the goats are happy, Nazeeb will get another day to live. A small mistake and a bullet of a gun will go through. Where there is a jail, there will be a jailer, sir. Don’t even think about running away, you won’t even get a drop of water. Neither is it easy to make such a film nor is it easy to work on it. My God, Prithviraj, what has he done in this film? If Nazeeb himself sees this film, he will get goosebumps.
God-level performance. In the same film, the way Prithviraj has transformed himself, from the starting scene to the end scene, you will not believe that he is the same person. One thing is to connect the public to the story so much that they start feeling emotional. But in such a cinema, it becomes difficult to sit in the theater while watching. This film is not for weak-hearted people.
Dialogs
You don’t just have to watch the film, you have to sit in the middle of it. There is a scene in the film, when Prithviraj talks to him in the voice of a goat. At that time, it will feel like there is no difference between humans and animals. Zero. Remember and tell me, when did you see last time that the entire 3-hour film and 180-minute camera is on just one actor? Just a one-man show, serious cinema, just look at me.
The expressions on the face, the body movement from the broken legs, and the yearning for water take care of everything. You can’t find a small mistake. Especially in the film, how big a challenge it is to survive with language difference, Prithviraj has shown it very perfectly. According to me, only 2-3 people in the film industry will be able to give this level of acting performance.
Champion performance. The Revenant film is also a survival thriller in the same pattern. Maybe you will agree or not, but Prithviraj’s performance can stand equal to Revenant. I would request you not to let Goat Life be an underrated film. Make such a hype that the entire film industry should recognize it.
Impact on the Audience
It’s deserving. But Prithviraj is only the 50% credit holder of this film. Making the lead character of the film powerful like a magnet, to which you can’t stop yourself from going, Sir Blessy has put his brain behind it. This film has such realistic, raw, natural, and impactful storytelling, that you will feel all the emotions in the dictionary, A to Z. All-rounder cinema.
No colorful sets, no VFX with a budget of 500-600 crores, and no mass commercial actor with a famous surname. Only a genius director’s vision and an actor can act as strong as a nuclear weapon. Goat Life is truly a Goat Cinema. Greatest of all time. Salute the champion. From my side, the film will get 5 out of 5 stars. Direction, wow.Acting, unmatchable. Story connect, fevicol.
Emotions, forever. Also, the desert setting is very real. I would just make one complaint. A good cinema should not be difficult for its audience to watch. Please pay attention to the subtitles in the movie. I think the director wants the audience to feel what Najib did in Arabia.
