Friends, a new Malayalam film named Garudan in the theatre. Friends, it’s a good film, it will keep you engaged, it will keep you hooked, and booked, it and keep you invested in the proceedings both in the first half as well as in the second half. The only thing I felt, I won’t call it a flaw, I won’t call it a flip side either, but the only thing I felt was a little predictable, friends. See, if you have seen a lot of crime thrillers or investigative thrillers in your life, you will be able to predict a little about what is happening in the film.
Film Story
So, I was not too taken aback, but still, despite its slight predictability, I enjoyed watching the film that is Garudan, a Malayalam film in the theatre, no doubt about it. See Friends, the premise of this film is very simple. Now, Biju Menon is labeled with an accusation, he is caught by the police and a case is filed against him. Such an accusation is labeled against him that he raped a girl and killed her. By killing, he means that the girl went into a coma, he assaulted the girl.
So, Biju Menon identifies him as Jagdish, that he was the same guy whom I had seen doing these crimes, etc. Now, the case is going on. What happens in that case? Is Biju Menon found guilty? Is Biju Menon the villain? Or is someone framing him in this case? And then of course, the second half goes in, you know, see I don’t want to reveal any spoilers, you watch it. What happens? Which mode does this Suresh Gopi versus Biju Menon story take? What twists and turns are there? And who is the real villain?
To find out about this you will have to watch the film. See, friends, there is a dilemma that comes to your mind as a viewer. Is he the villain or not? That one thing will go around in your mind. But yes, the way the proceedings go on, maybe, you may find it slightly predictable. But let me reiterate, even if you find it a little predictable, you will not be disinterested in the proceedings. It will still keep you invested.
Plot
It will still keep you hooked and booked. And wait for that very final shot. There, the dialogue with John Wick will look superb to you. Very good. Now, friends, what’s good in this? Suresh Gopi is very, very good. Excellent acting by Suresh Gopi.
Gave him a little action. But he could have been a little more powerful, according to my, actions. But otherwise, the dialogue delivery, his aura, his swag, was very, very good, Suresh Gopi. Very, very, very nice to watch. And finally, when the whole thing, you know, turns on its head.
And when the twist comes out. When you see Suresh Gopi’s entry there, you will find it. Be a great actor. Biju Menon, on the other hand, was a terrific, terrific, terrific actor. Terrific acting.
Film Summary
That’s all I will say. You will find those different shades to be very, very good. Superb ace, both in the first half as well as in the second half. Again, his acting is so terrific, that, as I said, a dilemma arises in your mind. A dilemma that, Bro, Suresh, is Biju Menon a villain or a hero? Or is someone fooling him? Or is he a villain?
The thing that Biju Menon has done through his acting, in your mind, was very, very good. Rest, it’s a tight film. I mean, the screenplay is very fast-paced. The tempo doesn’t dip anywhere. Go and watch it. It’s a nice, good, investigative thriller, a crime thriller that will keep you hooked and booked. I’m going with 3.5 stars for Garudan.
